Josephine's Notebook

I went on a walk with my nieces this afternoon and ran into Mormon missionaries. It was a little annoying that they wanted to barge in on my time with my nieces, but it did give me the opportunity to talk with the girls about religion and other strange beliefs that people may have. I even did a little impromptu ”Dragon in My Garage.” I really wanted to stress the importance of asking for evidence and evaluating what you believe with critical eye. We ended up having a great talk; they’re smart girls :-)

The talk with the Mormons? Not so enlightening. The reason they gave me for believing in their god was that they got a good feeling when they asked themselves if he existed. ::sigh:: I wondered if they had asked themselves about all the other gods that humans have ever believed in…
